Hi,

My 7 year old DD has been poorly since Friday evening. she was complaining of a bad tummy, and about an hour later put the exorcist to shame with her projectile vomiting! she went to sleep, and was absolutely fine all night.

Saturday, she vomited about 4 or 5 times, but seemed ok in herself. Sunday the same, yesterday the same. Today, she is still vomiting.

She has been to the toilet only once since Friday, and has not eaten since then either. she has been having sips of water, little but often, but that's about it.

She has vomiting only, not the other end...no temperature or fever...

Dr said this morning we should just let it run its course, but the poor girl is like a wet dish rag, has no energy!

any ideas what i can give her to help boost her back up??

Hi Headless...

she was sick again last night, but nothing today so far touch wood

I rung out of hours last night, went through list of symptoms etc, and they said it doesn't sound like she is dehydrated, and to carry on doing what we are doing - very frustrating!

Drs appt is later on today x

With vomiting and no diarrhea or temperature, I would be asking for a scan in case she has a full or partial bowel obstruction. My 6 year old DD had intussusception last year and her symptoms were severe tummy pain that then came and went, vomiting but no pooing. Is she breaking wind and pooing normally? If not, I would be at A and E tonight. If she is, maybe it's just a nasty bug.

Hi- what a weekend!

DD was rushed to hospital early hours Saturday morning - her appendix was minutes away from bursting (apparently) she has had it removed.

We came home from hospital this morning. She is doing well, no more sickness and totally taking advantage of all the attention Grin x

Well, glad they found it. A sick bug that goes on and on without diarrhea always makes me suspicious that something structural is awry nowadays.
Hope she is doing well and continues to recover x

Oh bless her. Hopefully she is starting to feel better now... you must feel better too. I wish her a speedy recovery

There is a massive difference in her already, despite recovering from surgery.

She was really ill on the Friday night/early Saturday morning - rung out of hours, told it was a bug etc! i could just tell from looking at her that wasn't the case - i told them this, but they wouldn't have it. in the end i rung an ambulance and when the doctor examined her he said he was glad we got her there when we did!!! x
