Stork bite suddenly looking red and angry

Just as the title says really. My baby is 9 months d and had a storm bite in the back of her head and neck. It sometimes gets redder when she cries or is hot and I'm used to that but today it's noticeably redder (far more than it's ever been before) and the redness hasn't subsided. She's happy enough in herself though. She was wearing a bib with Velcro this morning and I've kept it off since I noticed this redness incase it had caused irritation of the area but I don't think the bin is the cause. Her nails are due a trim but I can't see how she can reach so far behind her head. Has anyone got any experience of these types of birthmark and know what may be causing this?

yes my daughter had a flat 'stork bite' on her upper lip when she was born and in a few weeks it swelled up and became a 'haemangioma' and got bigger and bigger. Because of where it was, it broke open and got infected but i dont suppose that will happen to your child because its in a different place.
Haemangioma usually disappears as they get older.

Is it just redness or is there any other irritation? One of mine had the same type of birthmark but on her forehead. It used to mainly get red when she cried but I did notice it on other, seemingly random, occasions too. I would keep an eye on it for a day or two to see if it subsides, otherwise make a GP appointment if it is bothering her, or speak to the HV.
