Should my 2yr old stomach look like this?

I just don't understand why or how it gets so big like this? He's been way off his food for about 3 weeks now, just won't touch anything I give him, throws it on the floor or just nibbles little bits. But would happily chew on shite all day till his teeth go black. -which he doesn't- he's usually very healthy and happy. He's still his normal self except not eating. Although he is super crazy hyperactive. He has an attention span of about 10 seconds.

Is this normal? :)

MNHQ Sorry think this might need to be moved to Children's Health.

At a guess I would say he’s intolerant to something which is causing bloating.
I think you need to make an appointment with the GP as no, that isn’t normal (I work with children but not in a health capacity)

123bananas · 28/11/2017 21:41

Is he passing stool? Could be constipation.

Feelings · 28/11/2017 21:44

My daughter is the same so watching with interest!

Does his stomach seem flatter in the mornings by any chance? I've noticed my daughters stomach is flatter in the morning and as the day goes on it just seems to inflate like a balloon!

Rainbowandraindrops67 · 28/11/2017 22:01

There was a similar thread on here a while back - turned out it was something serious so I think you should go to dr just in case

LoniceraJaponica · 28/11/2017 22:10

I agree that a visit to the GP would be a good idea.

Girliefriendlikesflowers · 28/11/2017 22:12

That does look like more than just normal 2yo sticky out tummies, I would get it checked out. What are his poos like?!

Rainbowandraindrops67 · 28/11/2017 22:17

celiac diagnosed in the end

CaptainsCat · 28/11/2017 22:17

I’d get that checked out too I think.

tkband3 · 28/11/2017 22:23

Check www.coeliac.org.uk/coeliac-disease/is-it-coeliac-disease/ for symptoms of coeliac disease. Looks very like DD1’s stomach at 2 years old before she was diagnosed. Hers was also flatter in the morning.

AVeryBigHouse · 28/11/2017 22:37

My dad's stomach was like that and she was diagnosed with a fructose intolerance.

ImJustOneGrumpyMare · 28/11/2017 23:06

His poo is never normal or stays the same. Sometimes it's rock hard, Sometimes it's grey and really smells, Sometimes it's tiny little bits. It's like this all the time. He also throws up a lot.

Will ring Drs in the morning.

Just been checking that thread out that @rainbow posted. Noticed that he does the same things. Swears like mad In his sleep, to the point he's dripping. And constantly complaining ok his knees hurting.

Good luck. I hope you get some answers soon.

SwishswishBiTCH · 29/11/2017 09:35

Rang the doctors, earliest I can get him in is 2 weeks ?! ConfusedConfused they haven't got any emergency ones either.

Discusting · 29/11/2017 09:40

Ring back at 8am tomorrow and ask for an emergency one that day.

SparklyMagpie · 29/11/2017 09:46

Was that a name change fail OP?

Is it possible for you to get a phone consultation with the doc?

tkband3 · 29/11/2017 10:46

The frequent vomiting sounds very similar to DD1s symptoms prior to diagnosis. She was also either constipated or had chronic diarrhoea. It really does sound like coeliac disease.

SwishswishBiTCH · 29/11/2017 13:08

Yes it was -.- I'm on the app and it didn't work. Sorry for the confusion but cba going back.

Yes he is sick constantly. And his poo is never the same. I rang the doctors back and they got me a doctors call. The doctor called, said they dont think there's anything to worry about and he's fine.

Apparantly his bloating is due to him gobbling food too fast. --yet he hasn't eaten a full meal in about 3 weeks, and the doctor hasn't seen him yet-

I tried to explain he sweats constantly through the night to the point his hair is wet through, dripping down his face. His clothes are wet through and I have to change his bedding.

He had a poo Last night then started complaining about his stomach hurting. I put him to bed, after about 3 hours he had yet another huge spout of sick everywhere! The doctor said this is fine and it's normal.

Don't know what to think now the doctors said that Confused

I’d ask for a second opinion, and to actually be seen.
Between now and your appointment keep a diary of what he’s eaten and any episodes of vomiting etc.

RatRolyPoly · 29/11/2017 13:15

Honestly that is not normal and definitely warrants looking at. Do you have a walk-in near you? I assume you took the appointment for two weeks' time as well.

WindowWiper · 29/11/2017 13:20

Another here saying get a second opinion, OP.
I agree with pp who say it sounds like celiac.

Thishatisnotmine · 29/11/2017 13:21

My dd, nearly three, has a hard round stomach like that at the moment as she is refusing to poo. Sounds like your ds is at least constipated a lot so a doctors visit for that would be sensible without all the other things. Could you call again and hope you get to speak with a different doctor?
