How serious is scarlet fever? My daughter is immunocompromised and there are a few cases of SF at her school. I don’t know much about it 🤷🏻‍♀️

It generally isn't serious now. There is some thought that it may have mutated into a less serious form since the days it was a real dread. And I think antibiotics have helped a little too. Wink

My dc were red, but hardly ill at all except for rash and dd2 (as always) ran a high temperature.

However as your dd is immunocompromised, I wouldn't risk not checking with your consultant. Can you give a ring and ask him if it's a risk you need to take her out of the way from?

My Dd had SF at 12 she also has allergies and asthma anyway she felt rough sore throat and a headache but antibiotic cleared it up fine, it isn't as serious as it used to be my mum had it as a child and was in an isolation ward for weeks.

According to our doctor most people getva mild form during childhood and are therefore immune as adults. But it is possible to get a bad case as a child and afults that get i are quite often very ill (bot like w chicken pix). Given that your dd is immunocompromised id speak to your GP.

I would check with your GP/Consultant as it can range to very mild to serious
