Is this a ridiculous reason to take DD to the GP?

DD is 2, this past month she has started snoring really loudly, she's waking herself up and she seems to breathe weirdly, she seems to take 2-3 short snore breaths in then pause for a long time before breathing out, she doesn't seem comfortable lying flat anymore either, she's taken to sleeping propped up. She's fine during the day though, she's a normal, quiet breather during her awake time. Will the GP think I'm bonkers if I take her to get it checked? I'm concerned about sleep apnea or similar.

Was going to suggest sleep apnea. Definately worth getting checked out.

Sounds like enlarged adenoids to me. Ask for a referral to ent but you might have a battle on your hands as gps don't often take seriously. Best thing to do would be to video her at night.

And show gp obviously!

Both my eldest had this due to enlarged tonsils. My son had sleep apnea as a result They looked like 2 huge billiard balls stuck at the back of the mouth . Is there anything obvious if you look. When the throat relaxes during sleep they blocked his airway.
My son had his tonsils and adenoids removed asap so definitely merits a referral to ent.
