Poisonous teenage armpits....

...ugh
My ds1 is 14
On Monday I caught sight of his armpits and my god...they were red, sore and looked nasty!
Off to Dr we go and it's a fungal infection (!) And she advised to change his deodorant (Mitchum spray)
He's got 2 weeks worth of anti fungal cream which he's started using.
I popped off to lush and got a deo bar that's naturally anti fungal and anti bacterial for when he finishes the cream treatment
My question is....
How do we stop this happening again??

Buy him some 100% cotton tops at least for under other clothes if he has fashion ones he won't give up

Wash his clothing with white vinegar as a softener (kills fungus)

Salt of the earth type deodorant sticks cured my excessive sweat underarm and I avoid anything perfumed there or anti perspiring

And maybe if he can... shave them

Assuming he's doing the obvious and washing/drying them every day? Hopefully if he now knows to speak up if he gets a similar problem they'll never get this bad again.

I've told him showers every day without question....im not convinced this has been happening!!
Sadly his school uniform top is nasty synthetic stuff but his clothes at home are all 100% cotton as he is prone to excema
I've told him a clean on top each night til it's cleared up - usually sleeps naked though so it's not a night sweat issue
Thanks for the tips....i shall suggest shaving 😂😂😂

Deodorant allergy is quite common. I react like this to most spray on deodorant and can only use roll on like Dove. Definately wait until it clears up and try a change of deo!

I'm hoping the lush deo stick works for him
