Pre school immunisation

I didn't give pre-school immunisation and MMR second dose to my son because he has autism. I have given all other vaccinations to him from birth. He is 7 now. I was afraid that his progress would be regressed. But now, he gets lot of infections and got croup cough. I feel guilty that I should have given him the pre school vaccination. Is it possible to give now or is it worth to give now? Please help.

Yes, just make an appointment with your Practice Nurse.

Thank you for the reply FadedRed. I will do it.

Having vaccines won't stop him picking up lots of infections? Boost his immune system?

philomena15 · 10/09/2017 22:05

@shewolfmum Thank you for the reply. I agree with you but when I see my son is getting infections like these which his peers are not getting, I feel guilty about my son is not vaccinated

My DS who is 28 months old has had numerous infections since birth and has had all vaccines to date, but was still getting 3/4 infections a month, after a year or so fighting for full medical for underlying conditions we have now got some answers regarding bloods, his IGg antibodies hasn't responded to pneumococcal or tetanus vaccine so there fore his levels are extremely low, our consultant has requested booster vaccines then get his antibodies checked again next month if there still low then it's more investigation regarding the IGg antibodies, personally I would get them done, to help his immune system

My dd has just had her pre school booster and it has made her ill, I wish I had never had it. She has never been ill before not even a bad cold.

Angelinheaven my daughter also got sick after she has hers. Whilst it wasn't nice, it's a million times better than getting any of the things that the vaccination protects from.
Op, yes just make an appointment. Although it won't protect your ds from day to day illness and infection.
