Hello all,
Whilst changing my daughter this morning I noticed a spot didn't think much of it as we've recently returned from the Algarve and we had some insect bites between us so thought it was one of those. This evening after work i was getting her changed into her jammies and noticed quite a lot of these spots. Did the glass test and they disappear. Not sure what they are, anyone seen similar? She's fine otherwise . They're bumpy and hard to the touch, not sure if they are filled some look like they are. Shes had chicken pox in Jan this year.

Looks like molluscum to me - it's exactly as they looked on my DD who was diagnosed by our gp.

Molloscum are almost like little warts, they're not blistery and are only filled with fluid when infected. Def looks like MC ago me.

MC to me*

DanielaO12 · 01/09/2017 19:13

HairNinja was it a case of letting it treat on its own?

That's what the gp said but I have to admit I bought some molludab and used that because my DD also has eczema and we couldn't use her cream over the molluscum.
It's like wart remover in that it burns the top layer of skin and triggers the body's immune system into attacking them until they're clear. It's quite harsh and hurts a lot if you get it on ordinary skin and I wouldn't use it on a child the age of yours (mine's 6).

Oh, make sure she has her own towels until they've cleared up, it can be spread but isn't very contagious.

My sister dabbed neat tea tree oil on my nephews, but he was about 10 at the time. Not sure if I'd do that with a little.

Ill get it checked on Monday by a GP see what he says. I've read and doesn't seem dangerous and she's fine so think it's fine to wait until Monday. Thanks for all your help.
