DD's thigh is swollen after Men B immunisation. Is this normal?

DD had her 1 year immunisations yesterday. The back of her right thigh has come up red, hot and swollen, it's not an area surrounding the injection site as the injection was done more to the front and side. She's had the Men B before and hasn't had any problems. Is this a normal reaction to an immunisation?

We had this after 8 week injection and it turned out to be infected. I would check with the GP.

I'd call the GP and ask them because it's hot.

The GP told us to phone 111 who told us to see the GP! On the way there now. The swelling seems to have got worse. (Photo attached).

We had similar w ds1's arm age 3 (can't remember which vaccine caused it) . Doctor examined and filled in a "side effects" report. Wasn't an infection or painful and swelling subsided over a few days. He's had lots of vaccines since then and never had a similar reaction to any of them.

We had similar - swelling away from the injection site over a lymph node. It was red and hot and we actually got given antibiotics as a precaution

The GP said that she had a reaction to the injection but not severe and to give piriton and it shouldn't affect subsequent immunisations. He said sometimes they react and sometimes they don't. Today the swelling seems to have gone down although she still seems a bit grumpy about it all.
