I've only just spotted it on DD's arm but she says it's been there a while. Some of the spots are really tiny and none are red or sore, which is why I'm not sure. Maybe it's in its early stages?

I googled and wondered about trying to treat it with apple cider vinegar, or getting some Molludab. Do people boil sheets and towels etc or not bother?

GP recommended witch hazel, it worked for DSs "water warts" Hmm

Classic molluscum

Falconhoof1 · 28/08/2017 07:31

Looks like it to me. My son has had them for months and no one else has got them in the family. I don't do anything as I thought they went by themselves. There was a thread on here about then recently calling them "water warts" and advertising some cream for them (was a MN prize draw thread) but most people send to think it was all a bit unnecessary (including me). If your DD is bothered by them might be with a try, but I can't remember the name!

Looks like molluscum. Ds has it and started on his arm. He's had it for about 9 months now. Didn't boil wash anything as it takes ages to clear up so no point, but no sharing towels etc

AliceLutherNeeMorgan · 28/08/2017 07:41

Thank you! Is it likely to spread to other areas? It's not bothering her where it is in the crook of her elbow but she'll be very self-conscious if it goes anywhere more noticeable, I think

Ds's has spread to his tummy and chest. Looks horrible but nothing we can do but wait for it to clear. My friends DD had one on her eyelid for ages. I'm just hoping it doesn't spread to his face.

flumpybear · 28/08/2017 07:46

I'd say so - my DD had them for about two years!!! They were hideous and on her bottom Confused
My brother is a doc and suggested picking one to make it bleed so it engines an immune response - it worked for her and her brother (he only had them a month or so)

Because hers had got big and red over that long period she ended up with poc marks Sad

SenoritaViva · 28/08/2017 07:56

DD had them, only thing we did differently as a family was not share a bath with DD. Apparently you are either very suseptible to it (i.e. Siblings will catch very easily) or highly unlikely (DD had shared a bath with her brother for a while before we noticed it).
After a few months we went to a homeopath who cleared it.

AliceLutherNeeMorgan · 28/08/2017 08:41

Ok, sounds like we're in it for the long-haul then! I'm really tempted to pick one of them and see if it kick-starts her immunity a bit, but I guess that's much more likely to cause a scar so I will refrain. Fingers crossed it doesn't spread to her face or anywhere too obvious...

Her left marks whether scratched or not 😔 but they're on her behind so you can't see them in normal day to day life anyway

I used lemon myrtle oil, about 10 drops every day in ds's bath, and they were gone in a few months.
