Hi-I posted earlier in parenting but no response. DD is 8 and was discharged from the enurisis clinic as demo melts appeared to be working. Now they are not and there is a 6 month waiting list to be seen again. She did a year of bladder training-drinking over 1ltr of water a day and going to the loo lots.Last drink 6pm with dinner, demo melt at 7pm,bed at 8pm and last wee.I suspect she wets in the morning when the desmo has worn off as she is a very deep sleeper and pre desmo she wet 2-3 times overnight.Had little success with the NHS mat alarm as it went off when she sweated and did not wake her.Bought another one which did not wake her and she hated the wires.Considering the Rogers alarm which is wireless and the alarm slips in the pants. She is really fed up with it and hates pull ups.Any advice?Anyone used the Rodgers alarm? Many thanks

Hi I was just about to make my own thread...we are struggling with DD who is 7. She's due to see the nurse in a couple of weeks and I'm hoping theyll start desmopressin as weve had mo more than 4 dry nights in the last 7 weeks of summer. Im so fed up with washing sheets rvery day.
I'm really hoping the tablet will work for her. Have you tried contacting ERIC for advice?

Hi-I have this thread running on preteens as I had no response in parenting or health. There are a few suggestions on there. The washing is immense isn't it?I have some reusable bed mats from Amazon which help
.I use the Eric site but haven't thought about contacting them so will give it a go thanks.Someone on the other thread suggested sleeping with them to wake them when the alarm goes off (it doesn't wake her but her bed is tiny so doubt I will do this) and lifting at 11pm which the clinic said not to do.I think we will give the lifting a go though...if I make sure she wakes up it might get her I the habit.

Desmo helped us for a good few months so good luck...no idea why it stopped.Maybe summer holidays changing her routine/her being more tired.

I spent over £150 on top of the range wireless alarm and it worked totally within a week. No accidents in the 6 months since. I did consider other alarms but was very concerned about wires attached to child and didn't want pads in knickers etc. This way child was unaware of the alarm when settling to sleep. In my mind a far better option than drugs that can cause side effects/constipation etc.

DS9 has been completely dry for 9 months after Desmo. In the last fortnight he has wet every night but one!
He thinks it's the relaxed summer dinners and drinks nearer bedtime. I don't know.
We've tried alarms in past - only woke his brother next door not him.
I'm planning to go back to GP for more desmo.
Washing awful but at least it's been sunny.
I use brollysheets over the sheet they are v good.

We tried everything with ds1 and eventually he was dry just after he was 10 years. We used desmomelts and an alarm which went in his pants. The noise did not seem that bad in the day but it was like a fire engine in the middle of the night. We followed the guidance from the specialist continence nurse and had to persevere even when at times it did not seem to be working. It was exhausting to begin with - like having a new born baby - but eventually we got into the swing of it. Ds1 was desperate to be dry in time for his school residential so he was mentally prepared and fully on board. He was dry with a week to go before the residential and has not been wet since. At one point I was doing an extra three loads a day as he wet through the duvet and pillow. I was on my knees. I have not yet gathered the energy to sort out ds3. Ds2 was dry day and night a week after starting toilet training so he obviously had my husbands genes!
