I think my 8 year old ds has migraines. He had a number of episodes of headache and vomiting in April and May and we ended up going to paediatrics and he got an MRI which was normal. We have a follow up appt next week but I think they will say it's migraine. He has had none for 2 months then 3 in the last 11 days. With one he was sick a few times and had a sore head for hours and the other 2 it's been a headache and he wanted to go to his bed. His headache started at 12 today and I gave him ibuprofen. It was a bit better after a sleep but came back and I have now given him calpol and he's gone to lie down again.
I feel really sorry for him as he's usually so active and looking for some reassurance that they might be able to give him something that will work. Also, is it common for them to come in clusters i.e. None for 2 months and then several close together? Thanks

Ds1 (7) has been referred for suspected migraines. Dh and I both suffer with them. Dh has to take migraine meds, I can get by with ibuprofen and paracetamol plus being left to sleep. If I'm very ill with it they improve after I've vomited and slept it off. Ds1 tends to need a dose of ibuprofen, rest and absolutely no screens.
