Mollescum

My 3 year old girl has had mollescum on her bum since around February/March time. We have been to the doctors twice and they have said they won't treat it no matter how sore it looks and will go away on its own. Well the spots are now bursting and bleeding and it looks so sore - she is saying it hurts when I wipe her bum. Are there any hints or tips that will help or as I have a feeling the doctors still won't do anything if I go again? I've tried putting sudocrem and bepanthem on to try and create a barrier!

They could be on their way out if they are bursting. Do any look infected as it could need antibiotics?

The poor love!
My DS had it for about 18 months when he was around 6. I didn't do anything for ages but then I read somewhere on here about covering them with those small spot plasters when they are about to burst so they don't spread as easily. I did that and It seemed to slow right down.
I also read in hear to use tea tree shower gel/wash. That also seemed to help.
It will go - eventually. By my DS does have a few small chicken pox like scars from it so please don't let her scratch them off.

My DC had this a few years ago.
Horrible!
I tried various things and found in the end that a tiny dab of tea tree oil applied to the bumps with a q-tip at night helped them pop & dry up faster than if we left them. Just make sure your DC doesn't get the oil in her eyes etc..
It did take about a year to go. But it did go. I know it's awful to see on your little one but remember it's not the worst thing they can have.
Good luck! OP!

Plaster each one before they burst and spawn new ones. It was the only thing that worked for us after 2 years. Nothing short of miraculous.
