7 yr old feeling sick after eating

For the past 2 days, DD has complained of feeling sick after eating. It seems to come on after a few mouthfuls. She says she feels it in her tummy and throat. There is a vomiting bug going round so at first I thought it might be that but it seems not.

She has complained of this feeling once or twice before recently but in isolation.

Otherwise, she seems fine,no other symptoms. She does have a sensitive tummy and any stress or illness can give her tummy pain.

Could it be reflux or something like that? We go away soon and although it doesn't seems serious enough for a Drs visit, I don't want her to be poorly on hols.

Thanks for reading.I'll just sit here stressing myself stupid about all the potential causes as I usually do while I wait for replies....Grin

My Dd 3yrs stopped eating. In a similar way to yours. I thought she was just being a fussy toddler. Until the day came she couldnt even manage a mouthful. We took her and other DDs to park for a picnic to entice her eat, she did but was sick immediately. Took her Drs and they said she was constipated. Although she was pooping frequently they said it can still be clogged in there. She had a month of laxatives suitable for her age. Within 2 weeks her appetite was back with a vengeance. She literally ate anything in sight!

That's interesting. I spoke to a pharmacist tonight who suggested constipation but i thought not as she has had a few BMs. Will a Dr be able to tell by examining her?

Our Dr couldn't really tell by examination. When we took het to drs they sent her for blood test but while waiting for results etc they put her on movical. After 3 days she started to eat a little more. Not much but there was a definite improvement. By the time results were back at 1 week she had improved again. After 2 weeks the blockage started coming out. The stench was eye wateringly bad.
I would take your Dd to drs when you can. Movical is a powder. We had to disguise it in stronger juice. She could tell it was in there with a weaker juice. But to get her better we were willing to do anything. Will you please let me know how your Dd is and what Dr says.

So Dr reckons she's fine. No signs of constipation. He says if she was getting worse, he would be concerned. But she's not. And she is managing to eat ok. Said it could be a very mild bug or a touch of acid. He thinks judging from her history, she's got a v sensitive tummy (true). Has given us some antacid but said only to use it if really needed.
