Start of tooth decay

While checking my son's teeth after brushing last night I spotted a little White chalky spot on one of his molars near the gum. I have googled and apparently it is the beginning stage of decay. It says it is reversible at this point but I am mortified. I have phoned for a dentist appointment this morning but it is not until the 7th of August.

He has an upper lip tie so I have to lift his lip up to get to some teeth which he finds uncomfortable.

I don't have good teeth so have always even really vigilant with his dental care (or so I thought Sad). I brush his teeth for him twice a day using a child's electric toothbrush and 1450 ppm fluoride toothpaste. He hates the taste and likes to rinse after so I then put a tiny smear of toothpaste on a manual brush and go over them again.

What can I do until his appointment to stop it getting worse? I have used the kids Sensodyne Pronamel and sugar neutralising formulas in the past will these do any good?

They can also get this from swallowing the toothpaste so try not to worry I'm sure you are doing a great job looking after his teeth! My toddler got a preventative coating applied to her teeth at our last appointment, the dentist said she didnt need it but it offers extra protection so I wanted it, maybe ask if that's something they offer when you go x
