I can take dd to the walk in NHS minor injuries but will they just say clean and dress and use antiseptic? Which I have been doing. She's not complaining but it looks horrid.

It's already leaking pus - what cream did they give you? Fusidin?

I would give it a good clean with soapy water, rinse, put a dry dressing on it and have another look in the morning. If worse, go to walk-in clinic, if better, great, if the same, repeat.

I wouldn't trouble the NHS with that I don't think. Use some antiseptic cream

Hi. Two of my dcs when very newborns had infected fingers and with the most recent one we were told to dunk it in salt water. It was just as good as fucidin.

I had a spectacular actually throbbing one which exploded thick green pus once. Ah... one of the great moments of my life... (Goes into pus-based reverie)

outputgap · 08/07/2017 17:16

Although, is the skin shedding or something? Has she been picking it?

Salt water bathing is really good though, and if the pus is coming out, it's probably just about to go on the mend.

Queenofthedrivensnow · 08/07/2017 17:57

Could pop in to a pharmacist who can advise. I would err on the side of caution with a finger infection.

Today it's less red but still sore. Less swollen though
