Does anyone have experience of a child 'growing out' of this?
After several urine infections we have had this issue investigated and saw a consultant.
His response was that it doesn't retract as it should but as my son is only 9 he should wait to see if there are changes as he gets older.
He also mentioned that the NHS doesn't have any money.
My concern is that a decision is being made on a financial basis rather than a medical one, and just deferring the problem.
Does anyone else have experience of this?
Thank you!

I think they wait until around age 12 to see if it self-resolves - that's only if it's not causing problems though so it depends how frequent the urinary infections are.

If it's causing your son regular discomfort then I'd push for treatment - first line is usual steroid cream before surgery is considered.

Thank you Sleepyhead - that's reassuring.

Some don't retract until puberty
