18 month old bloody mucus in poo??

My daughter is 18 months and a couple of weeks ago did a poo which had blood tinged mucus on it, I spoke to the doctor who said if it was a one off as she was fine in herself not to worry but if it happened again to let him know and they might check a sample of her poo, it didn't happen again until today.
This afternoon she cried while pooing and when I checked the nappy there was more red tinged mucus on the poo. I have put some in a tub to take to the doctors tomorrow I'm hoping they can test it, but has anyone come across this? I'm sooo worried!
Thanks

I am not a GP but I know from my own-- experience that anal fissures can cause blood streaked poo. It would make sense for your DD to be crying when pooing with a fissure as it is extremely painful like shitting broken glass--. They are common in children as they are prone to constipation.

Best thing is to see what the doc says but I'm sure it won't be anything to worry about Flowers

Not quite sure WTF happened to my post there....

A bit of bloody mucus is, as pp said, pretty common and fine.

Just bloody mucus - so that it looks like jam or jelly could be something nasty that needs urgent attention.

Another possibility is cows milk protein intolerance (dairy allergy). Their gut becomes a bit agitated. Definitely visit your doctor and try not to worry if you can x

Hi! Just wondering how your DD is after docs appt?

Hope your LO is okay. My daughter used to get this due to constipation and fissures from straining. Is her poos particularly hard?
