My grandson was accident dropped down the stairs by his dad when he was three weeks old when the dog bite his ankle. My daughter is no longer with the father. He was taken to hospital with a fractured skull and had lots of tests but the doctors said that they didn't think there would be any lasting damage. He is now 8 and 1/2 months old and will not grasp anything , when having a bath or in his bumbo seat he just sits with his hands at his side. I've tried to put things in his hand but he just releases his hands. He isn't sitting up and has a floppy torso. He will stand on his feet when you hold his hands . He legs are sturdy but his torso is very wobbly. He seems to be lacking eye hand go ordination. I'm a Nursery Nurse and have worked with children for 26 years so I told my daughter my concerns and we asked the HV to do a visit. When she came she said that she is going to refer him to the paediatrician for an eye test as his father has very poor eyesight and had to have an operation on his eyes at 2 years old. She said she will do a developmental test on him at 9 months as she agreed with everything I had said. I'm now concerned that the fall he had has caused him lasting damage and this makes me very upset and cross. Does anyone with any medical background or who has been in the same situation know what could be wrong. Very concerned Nanna
