Any idea what these are?

Ds has had a very high temp and these spots. He's had chicken pox before although I know you can get it more than once.

Thing is he had the same thing a month ago (post high temp)

Gp thinks viral spots but scared the hell out of me by mentioning lukemia (said they'd test white blood cells if he had another bout soon). Although he said there'd be lots of other symptoms too.

Not sure what they are. They do look a like chicken pox spots to me. Are they itchy? Non itchy spots like that could be hand foot and mouth. But generally they do appear on the hands, feet and in the mouth (as name suggests) although the spots can appear all over.

Could they be bites? Do you have any pets that could have caught fleas or (shudder) are you in an area / been on holiday / stayed anywhere recently where there might be bed bugs? I've see photos of bed bug bites that look like that but not sure if that would cause a high temperature so maybe not.

DD has had chicken pox twice - confirmed by a DR on both occasions so it could definitely be a second dose - particurly if he has a mild case first time round.

I suspect DD currently has a third case on the go right now. Perhaps shingles - she has symptoms of a shingles rash on her neck and pox spots under arm and down her back.

I hope you get an answer soon - It's awful when they are ill and no one can tell you what it is :(

Don't really know but seems a bit localised for chicken pox, and an odd distribution for shingles. Maybe Molluscum? In any case I hope he's better soon.

They are really itchy. The drs have previously said bites but non of us have been bitten and they're weirdly localised (this time to legs, last time to trunk).

Another dr did suggest molloscum but they aren't pearly like molloscum, and this most recent gp said they wouldn't be itchy.

I'm just worried because he's had the same thing a few times and the most recent case just a month ago.

My husband (gp) also suggestsmolluscum contagiosum, though fever not common. Takes 18months to clear if that's what it is.

5yo DS had similar a month or so ago.. He would get loads up his arm or tummy and then they'd disappear. A few days later another set would come up and they were really itchy. First gp thought chicken pox again, 2nd thought allergy, 3rd thought Scabies. It was the scabies treatment that cured it. Everyone in the house had to use the treatment and it was gone in around a week. DS only had a temperature on the first set of spots but was fine after that.

Thanks so much neurotic and snip. Really helpful! He's so much better in himself now.

If he gets another bout after these clear up I may suggest scabies treatment to gp.

Thanks so much for all the suggestions and advice.
