Insomnia in 10yo

Our 10yo is frequently still awake at 10pm, saying she can't sleep. Not anxious but sometimes "thinking about things". Think we have a good bedtime routine eg no tablets in the bedroom or an hour pre bedtime (8pm), stories, low lighting. Wouldn't be a problem except she often has to be woken at 8am to get up for school which suggests she isn't getting enough sleep.
Just a phase (growth spurt? I'm thinking like when they're babies and don't sleep or feed properly when they're having one?)or worth talking to gp about?

Our dd2 (just turned 10) had a phase of this from Christmas this year. A very friendly mner said that listening to Michael morpurgo stories at bedtime had worked for her dc. So we tried it. Ours didn't go to sleep during the story but did manage to go to sleep almost immediately afterwards. The combination of a calming voice and an interesting story which takes her mind of whatever she was thinking about has made such a difference to us. For us it got to the point of even being awake at 2am still. We did go to the gp who said it was normal enough and not to worry and for our dd ruled anything medical out. Including anxiety. Might be worth you going but I wd wholeheartedly suggest the stories.

DS is almost 10 and is often still awake at 11pm. I have to wake him on a morning but I have to wake DD too even though she sleeps much earlier and he's never tired during the day.
