Dreaded nits

Well we managed to go 12 years without seeing one and she has eventually succumbed Shock

I am horrified and cannot stop scratching myself. The day before yesterday I did all of her hair with Numark head lice treatment 1% w/w cutaneous emulsion permethrin 1%. So we combed all through etc, she has had a shower tonight and I have combed through again and there are still little buggers in there - and they are moving Hmm Did the box of stuff not work? It said it would kill everything and then it would protect her hair from them for 2 weeks 🤔

Wondering if I should try another solution in 48 hours or just keep going through with a comb?

You need to get a Nitty Gritty Nit comb, they cost about £10 but wet combing with one will clear lice and eggs and no chemicals needed as most lice are immune anyway.

We also dodged them for 12 years! I use the nitty gritty comb. Loads and loads of conditioner, section off hair and comb. It'll take a few goes, but keep on it over a few weeks. We also do precautionary combs now.

I 3rd the Nitty Gritty recommendation.
No chemicals needed, just conditioner and a bit of patience

Well done for getting through 12 years without nits! My son has had them twice since starting primary one last August ( lasr week was a very mild dose just one adult and about 5 eggs )

I also agree with get a nitty gritty comb. We condition and comb through his hair twice a week as standard and also used a nit deterring shampoo and leave in spray ( tea tree )
