Rash, any ideas? (pics included)

DD (7 months) had a few spots on her chest a few days ago, thought nothing of it as she does get baby acne sometimes, so I did my usual (hv advised) of sticking some sudocrem on it and leaving it be.

Yesterday evening she erupted, the spots are all down her back, shoulders the top half of her arms and legs and her entire chest.

I don't know if you can tell from the pictures but they are almost like tiny whiteheads with red around them. She has no temperature, is drinking her bottles fine, no cough, plenty of wet and dirty nappies. She didn't sleep well last night and spent a lot of time fidgeting but otherwise seems completely normal.

No change in washing powder/ softener. No foods she hasn't had before, no new clothes or creams and I'm not using any new products either so I don't think it's an allergy.

I've phoned GP this am, he says with no other symptoms he isn't worried but to take her down later just to check which I will do but in the mean time anyone any ideas? I suspect it might just be heat rash?

I think it could be German Measles. From memory, my DD didn't seem too poorly with it but I remember the rash looking similar. I'd get it checked out by GP or walk- in centre. Hope she feels better soon

I hope it isn't but I will make sure I keep her well away from everyone else while we are in the waiting room, better safe than sorry! She has had her MMR so hopefully not though.

I know it's a lot rarer now than when my DD was tiny. She had MMR so this must have been beforehand. Argh, sorry I have a rubbish memory. Hope I haven't panicked you!

I don't think it's German measles - I think that is more of a smaller spot.

It looks like an allergy of some sort. Could she have been bitten by anything. I was out in the garden on Saturday evening and got some really nasty midge/mosquito bites, as did DS - we react to those. Even DH who never react, had one nasty one.

Not panicking, if it is German measles then at least I'll know and it isn't usually serious so not overly worried if it is that especially soon as she's so well in herself.

They are tiny tiny spots in the middle of the red patches, definitely look a lot like white heads but no temperature, glands aren't swollen that I can feel and no cold symptoms so googling the symptoms I doubt it is German measles.

We've been down the park a lot so I suppose being bitten isn't impossible but it's everywhere, would she have a rash that spread out if bites had caused it?

If anything thinking it could be something simple like an allergy or German measles is a relief and has stopped me panicking. I had such a bad time with DD1 that I am prone to imagining the worst and getting myself in a right spin so thankyou for your suggestions and experiences!

IF each one were a bite, then it's possible. When I or DS get bitten we have the tiny mark of the bite (which often fills with liquid to a tiny pin-prick head) and then a red itchy rash spreads out from it, getting bigger over the next couple of days, often raised and often hot. If we can manage not to scratch, then they will start to go down over the next couple of days.

It's heat rash feel pretty stupid if I'm honest but at least it's nothing serious!

Glad it was nothing serious. I'm sure the GP didn't mind - rashes are always scary.
