Hi, just wondered if I can get a bit of advise please! My 16 month old daughter came in contact with someone 16 days ago who got a single chicken pox the next day (his second time) We go on holiday on Friday which is exactly 21 days later and I'm worried incase she gets it and can't fly as it's for my brothers wedding! I know the incubation period is 21 days.. I just wanted to know as she's not got any symptoms already i.e cold whether she should be ok and not going to get it? Thanks! Smile

It's totally impossible to predict, just try to make some plans for any eventuality.

Sounds v unlikely. If it was his second time and a single chicken pox it seems unlikely even he had it, a number of other things could look like a single chicken pox spot. I would confidently say you are OK (but obviously in this world nobody could guarantee anything)

Incubation exactly 14 days ime, you're already past that. But no guarantees.

AVeryBigHouse · 02/05/2017 14:46

Incubation is normally 10-14 days so you're probably in the clear now. Fingers crossed!

Probably unlikely now. My DD(5) was rolling around playing with her 14 month old cousin for an entire afternoon. The next day DD came out in chicken pox, really horrible full blown. Her little cousin never got it. So contact doesn't always mean it gets passed on. Fingers crossed for you!

Unlikely but nobody can tell you for sure.

What on earth is a single chicken pox?!
