Daughter has her birthday party this weekend and I've invited her cousins. Just learnt that one of them has nits. This isn't the first time and I know anyone can get them from school etc. Even get letters from our school about it.
But these kids always have them and tbh parenting skills are non existent. Mother is only ever bothered about herself and I know she tries but...

Seriously in two minds about it!

Tell her they can't come unless it's cleared as you will not allow yourself to be blamed when there's an outbreak in her school

Isadora2007 · 20/02/2017 13:07

It's not the child's fault so YABU.

Absolutely needs to be treated before the party. All of the children and the parents need to be treated, not just the 1 child.

Isadora2007 · 20/02/2017 13:08

You could offer to have the child come early and do a comb through and then tie her hair in French plaits.

Booboostwo · 20/02/2017 13:32

Oh please, it's just nits, everyone gets them and some people are more prone to them due to their blood type. Don't uninvite a child relative over nits!

lonesomeandfragile · 20/02/2017 13:39

YABU it's not the children's fault so why should they be punished? Ask the mother to treat / tie up hair.

StealthPolarBear · 20/02/2017 13:40

...or the father

ivykaty44 · 20/02/2017 13:40

Pop olive oil on your own DDS or DS hair as it prevents nits

allegretto · 20/02/2017 13:43

Surely they can treat them today? Will be fine for the party.
