Is there any point in nit treatment?

I mean, I know it works well but after spending money and a long time dragging a bit comb through my hairy family daily it seems a bit futile if no other kids parents also treat their infected children. Or indeed, if only one parent doesn't bother..

I'll carry on combing - I don't remember what I used to do with that 2 hours every day - but I'm failing to see the point in lots of money on fancy treatments (and bribery to make the 3yr old let me put it in) if I'm the only one doing it.

Possibly the wrong attitude to it all, but it's how I feel. It's like when you're the only parent who keeps a child off nursery while they're still contagious with a sickness bug...

Am feeling the same at the moment. I can do all this but if someone else has not we are back to square one....compulsory fumigation for all maybe!

If everyone got treated at the same time whoever it is who makes headrin would go out of business, so they probably don't want that to happen..They're probably breeding the little blighters...

I think the only thing keeping me sane is convincing myself the lice protect against bear attacks thus giving them a purpose, my job is population control

We had a pact with other parents in my dd's class after a particularly bad term; everyone agreed to check and treat over Xmas holidays. It did have a huge effect; after having them 4 times in one term she has only had them 1x since (in a year).

I think holiday times are going to be our only lice free time
