DD vomiting every 20-30 mins bright green bile

DD is 4 years old and has been vomiting since about 8.30pm. She completely emptied her stomach within half an hour and is now throwing up bright yellow/green bile every 20-30 minutes. I'm giving her sips of water but it all just comes back up so she's not holding down any fluids at all. She's on the sofa with me and seems to be sleeping fine between each episode of vomiting but I'm sat by her constantly alert waiting to catch the next load in her sick bowl. I'm scared to death to nod off to sleep because I know it's not long before she's being sick again and she doesn't give much warning at all, I'm literally just watching for her starting to stir.
DH is in bed with DD2 (6 month old and still in our room) and he has work in the morning so I don't want to disturb him.
I've called 111 and a doctor called me back and just said it's a tummy bug and to keep an eye on her. How insightful thank you mister doctor man Hmm
I'm so worried I'm constantly on edge and feel completely useless (other than to clean up sick constantly)
I know there's not much I can do, it's just my job as a mother but I'm exhausted!
I realise it's not really a question but if anybody has any advice I'd appreciate it
Sad

Replacement fluids like dioralyte are easier to keep down than plain water. Try 10mls every 10 minutes. That's the protocol we've used in hospital a number of times when our dd has been admitted for dehydration. Sometimes it saves having to have a drip, sometimes not. Although the bright green bile means she should be checked by a doctor, if she's not dehydrated then generally they won't do anything, it's just a waiting game til it passes. You have my sympathies, stomach bugs are awful.

The doctor is right . There is a stomach flu doing the rounds . I had it and my children also have had it. It just lasts 24 hours. Unfortunately all you can do is ride it out and keep offering her fluids xx

If you haven't got dioralyte, my pediatrician said three parts water to one part apple juice is better at hydrating than plain water. Hope she's better soon.

You can make a diorylate solution

1 litre of water (boil it)
6 level teaspoons of sugar
1/2 teaspoon of salt

Shake until all dissolved.

We have the bug too!!

DD is 14 months and woke up being sick on Friday morning. The vomiting was every 20 mins until 1pm so about 7 hours altogether. She slept in between. Was playing as normal in the afternoon.

Strangely with us she has been sick once a night since. Hence being up again now.

It also spread and DH had it on Sunday. Lot less vomiting and more fluey symptoms. Back to normal now. Although still looking sympathy.

So far I'm fine.

Oh and I kept giving DD water and breast milk. She didn't keep much down but was a lot easier to be sick with fluid in her stomach rather than that horrible yellow bile.

Try ice lollies, I found they weren't vomited as you're not really eating them.
