Hello!

My son is turning 16 months next week. So far he met all his milestones early or just as the chart says. He is my second baby so I totally know they are all different!

He is cruising around furniture since 9 months. He stands up by himslef without support since 12 months but he is too scared to walk. He loves to climb everywhere but he hates walking (specially with holding hands, he will just swing ) He already made few steps by himself but he just seem to not be interested at all.

Does anyone have idea how to build
his confidence? He is very fast crawler and happy smart boy. He had physio because of hips but all was good.

Thank you for all your tips and ideas :)

My first didn't walk until 18 months

I left her to it really and she just got up one day and walked. No crusing, just walked.

He will get there when he gets there

My second born walked at 15 months

He sounds like he is doing fine for the most part and not walking yet isn't that unusual. DD1 was 'slow' to walk at a similar age, and in the end my DH and brother played with her getting her to take one step between them back and forth, extended it to two steps etc whilst making it a big giggle and fun for her. Once she realised she could go solo she walked reasonably well from that day. Like your DS she had cruised for quite a long time before that leap of faith away from holding on.

My son was 17 months on the 1st Dec and has only just started taking steps. A few weeks ago he did one or two steps a couple of times then got really ill and did nothing more. Last week at nursery he just started taking steps all by himself. He would never walk behind a walker or holding my hand, he would just throw himself on his bum if you tried to get him to walk.

He also loves to cruise and climb, especially climb!
