I would say Leukaemia does yes, but for the others, some markers might be higher but you have to look for it.

Why do you ask?

Kewcumber · 07/11/2016 09:59

My mum's cancer never showed markers in her blood - I know because I asked at the Marsden.

No. Brain cancer doesn't for one...

No -my son's type of Leukemia (AML) did not show up in blood tests. Low platelets were identified but doctors thought it was ITP for several months. Only a bone marrow aspirate and trefine confirmed it.

No - my son had a grade IV medullabladtoma (very aggressive brain tumour) that did not show up in bloods.

What are you suspecting? What symptoms does your child show?

Labtest7 · 10/11/2016 12:39

My daughter had ALL which didn't show up in the blood count. The next day they looked at the blood film and saw blast cells which confirmed leukaemia. A bone marrow biopsy determined the type.
