Diffrence between ECG and ECG and rythem strip?

Noticed some abnormalitys on my sons heart trace when he had his EEG done, he's now been sent to a cardiologist to have an ecg with a rythem strip done, he's had an ecg before and said it was normal? They havnt even said what they are looking for so can only ask the diffrence between the tests??

When an initial ECG is done it can be very short and look for abnormalities in the shape of the waves. This can be done by monitoring a screen.

If a rhythm strip is printed it means that an expert can look at a good strip of trace all at once which may show up variations in length of parts of the wave which aren't so apparent when looking at an individual 'beat' on screen. There isn't a significant difference in the procedure form the patient's point of view except it takes 5 mins instead of 2 and they produce a hard copy as well as digital readout.
Why did they do a heart trace with an EEG?

I don't know, they was looking for epilepsy so pass why the did his heart at The same time, was done at Birmingham children's hospital

What do you mean by his heart trace? An EEG doesn't look at heart rythms it looks at brain waves. Was he on a sats monitor? Or did he have three lead cardiac monitoring?
