My children are fussy little buggers , does anyone have any healthy ideas for school lunches? Or not just healthy but any different ideas? I'm sure they get sick of ham sandwiches and yoghurts!

Following!

I bought Annabel Karmel's lunchbox book when mine were little but most of the ideas in there are a bit of a faff and still ended up in the bin!

I have bento boxes to make things a bit more interesting, cutting sandwiches into shapes, moulding boiled eggs into shapes, cute little forks for eating tiny pots of cutted up pear etc. It's just so. much. work!

Never even thought of boiled eggs! See, helpful already! Star

Sandwiches - but vary from ham!!! Cheese, egg, tuna, chicken. I even throw in the occasional jam or Marmite. Peanut butter if allowed.
Cucumber, pepper, cherry tomatoes, carrots all chopped up. Maybe with a small dollop of humous or soft cheese.
Cubes of cheese - or babybel / cheese strings if the kids get near the trolly.
Cold chicken drum sticks.
I've got some mini pizzas for tomorrow - supermarket was selling a box of precooked pizzas today.
Crackers, cheese cubes and grapes.
Vary the fruit - grapes, pineapple rings, cored and quartered apples, quartered oranges, satsumas, melon slices, berries.
Mine usually get a cereal bar, as biscuits etc are frowned upon. However home made flapjack didn't get frowned at today, apparently.

And mini packs of everything - I know it's not environmentally friendly but a mini pot of houmous or Philadelphia to dip things in is so much easier than having to rinse out tiny little pots to reuse. I do save the mini pots that come with chutney in from the takeaway but anything I can buy ready done is a lifesaver at 11pm when I'm off to bed and realise I haven't done lunches! I'd also recommend making more sandwiches than you need so you get a day off making them! I made 6 last night for my 3 DCs today and tomorrow so I get a night off! I also put some mini sausage rolls in the oven with dinner so they'll be in the fridge for snacks and lunches over the next few days.
