What could be wrong with my baby?

I had a thread running about DS2's terrible sleeping where I got some amazing help and advice, one being that he possibly had silent reflux, so I took him to the doctors who agreed and put him on gaviscon sachets

But since then he has a whole new host of things wrong
I'll just list them for ease of reading -
Constipation
Poo switching from soft and mucussy to hard and black (but always as difficult to pass)
Poo smelling sour and almost acidic?
Obviously tummy pain
Weeing lots
Little bit of a rash around his ears/neck/cheeks that comes and goes
Occasional sick that is clear with white lumpy bits in
Very sweet smelling - he literally smells like baked goods

I've considered lactose intolerance and other food allergies (most of this started with weaning) and googling the smell is saying possible diabetes (argh!!)
Obviously I'll take him back to GP but just wondering if any of this looks familiar to anyone? What could it be? And what can I do in the meantime?

I'd take him to the GP. The black poos and sweet smell are ringing alarm bells.

As in today take him to ooh GP

no idea but if you KNOW your child is not right, i would badger every dr i could until i found out what's wrong

I just wanted to comment to say that I think you should take him to the doctor.
My son had similar symptoms and we just muddled on for ages but I think he probably had a dairy allergy as my daughter was diagnosed 3 years later after the same symptoms.
It's easy to think it's not that bad and you can manage it at home but the doctors really don't mind about appointments for little ones. It's much better to go. Good luck

Yes go and pester.... I know someone who hacker son back and forth for ages and they all fobbed her off..... He was 7/8 mths when they took him to hospital, she literally sat in the hospital, cried and refused to move until something was done..... He was diagnosed with extreme excema, milk allergies, oats allergy. He's now 3 and has been diagnosed with a few more allergies since then.
Obviously this is extreme but sometimes you do need to keep pestering! I think Drs have a terrible habit of overlooking baby illness as just over fussy parents

Also, in my experience you don't get referred for tests very easily. They have to see you in the surgery a few times, they usually go down the route of trying to sort out individual problems (like the constipation, exzema etc) and when you keep presenting back then they look at underlying causes such as allergies.
It's a long process and it felt like a bit of a game but you know if he's suffering and not right - you just have to be persistent and try all the avenues.

I think I am a bit worried that I'll just be labelled a fussy parent, even my own Mum has said I'm developing munchausen by proxy
But it helps that you all agree that actually he doesn't sound right and my instincts are right
I'll go to the GP first thing Monday and get pestering - I'm very good at that, I once had a specialist flew in from another country I was so insistent I needed another opinion for DS1 - doctors love me

What is the sweet smell like? A kind of vanilla milky smell or more of a fruity one?

I would also point out that gavisgon can cause constipation. And there are far better things out there for silent reflux then that.

Probably silent reflux. I had to stop gaviscon as constipation was just as bad. Now use carobel in every feed which is a godsend and no constipation. What age is your baby could they now be teething as well?

Gaviscin caused most of those side effects when my DD was 7 months. I stopped using it - and she went straight back to notmal. Gasviscon is hideous stuff for babies. Just moves the problem to further down in the digestive tract (ie constipation) in my experience!
