I use children's toothpaste (6+) for DS just turned 11 - just wondering when I'm meant to switch to 'adult' toothpaste?

The health visitor and the dentist both said to use adult toothpaste straight away. we use the Colgate sugar acid neutraliser one as DS eats a lot of fruit.

Bought the Tesco cavity protection toothpaste, just checked and it does have 1450ppm fluoride.

Eminybob I do wonder about all these toothpaste extras like "sugar acid neutraliser" and wonder if they are just marketing bollocks.

Has the advice of this changed and I've missed it?

We were very strongly told not to use adult toothpaste for our children when they were little.

Yeah tbh they are probably all the same. The dentist gave us a sample when I first took DS so I got sucked in!

I really don't believe most of the whitening ones do anything more than any other.

Re the adult vs childrens toothpaste, I may be wrong but thought it was because there is less fluoride in the water in this area so the advice might be different depending on where you live?
