Ezcema - any top tips? And how to work out the cause.

DD (3yo) has flair up of ezcema which I guess a GP would call mild, but it is itchy and waking her at night, and the scratching sometimes bleeds. She gets flair ups every few months or so. What's the best thing to use? I use Aveeno and put oats in the bath, which seems to help soften her normally very dry skin. Is there anythine else I can do? She does drink a lot of milk, I wondered if that might be causing it. Which leads me to my next question, how on earth do you figure out the cause?

I'm assuming there's no point going to the GP (they've always been pretty disinterested in the past).

What I found worked- none of the creams from.the drs. in fact they made it worse.

I use special shampoo and conditioner and body wash and creams from a website that sells all that paraben, sls and animal.product free stuff

we went dairy free aswell. now dd only eats it if she's at a birthday party or a the odd day trip or special occasion.

I also changed washing powder to an anti allergy, animal.product chemical free one.

I only use Fairy on DDs clothes as she does seem to be worse with others, but it may still be causing her problems. What brand do you use?

Good tip about the piriton. Maybe I should try the GP again.

We use cetraban and find this helps

DC is dairy free but this doesn't seem to affect eczema anyway. Seems to be triggered my heat/cold and using non prescription products on skin eg body wash or suncream
