Can babies be treated for threadworm?

I have a 4 year old who somehow got Threadworms. Presume it's from school. I think it's only a small infestation as Ovex seems to have solved the problem and we only took it late on Saturday.

However, my daughter is only 4 months and too young for the treatment I bought at the chemist

Does she need treating? Even if she has no signs of them..

My house is clean as it is (OCD) but this has tipped me over the edge.. I have scrubbed and washed everything. I always hoover my whole house every day anyway.

Does she need to be treated? Or shall I just keep an eye on her for symptoms?? Sometimes my son puts her dummy in and holds her hands etc. Help..

I sympathise. We've just had this. My ds is a bit older than your dd - 9 months - and i actually saw worms on him so knew he had them. The gp initially said he couldn't have anything then he consulted his manual which said babies from 6 months can have ovex but it's not licensed for use. I think at 4 months your dd is just a bit young but she may not catch them anyway.

Can i recommend that you don't Google? I did and it was a huge mistake. I nearly lost the plot with constant cleaning and washing after reading lots of internet horror stories.

I hope dd's ok Smile
