Semi permanent low leve'lr tummy ache

DD is 8 and complains a lot of tummy ache and frequently has loose stools. I have been keeping an eye on things and really cannot pinpoint what the reason could be. Her diet could admittedly be healthier and perhaps at times she should eat less, as in smaller portions. But apart from that, is there anything I should be looking into before I take her to the doctors? I keep thinking it is anxiety related but she is a happy child and quite open with me. I have asked her if there's anything or anyone bothering her at school and she says no.

If I take her to the GP, realistically, what can they do about it?

Dd2 has had tummy ache for the last year. These are the following tests she's had:

Scan in abdomen area, blood tests (x several to see how things are changing), urine sample, stool sample and generally feeling the tummy. Unfortunately we haven't come any nearer to finding the reason, unless it's anxiety, which she does suffer from.

Anxiety isn't necessarily connected to a bad event for dd2. it can just be that something is stressing her. A new (but nice) teacher, different seating plan, homework that she's not quite completed etc. Even something she wants to do but is new can trigger anxiety, so it isn't necessarily something bothering her.

When dd2 was 4yo I took her for tummy ache and it turned out (feel of tummy plus scan) she was badly constipated. Wouldn't have guessed it, but actually soft stools can be a sign, as it's the loose ones squeezing round the side of the blockage.

It was constipation with ds2, the loose poo was overflow. Didn't realise til we ended up in a&e with suspected appendicitis Blush
