DS 3 and his following through when farting issue

For the last couple of weeks Ds has had lots of 'wet farts' resulting in multiple pairs of dirty pants.

He will grab his bottom and say he needs a poo and we then have seconds to get him there.

His poos have been pretty loose as well.

He has been reliably toilet trained for nearly a year and usually has several poos a day of varying consistency (sorry for tmi!)

He never had a solid poo until he was toilet trained so I did used to wonder if he had some sort of intolerance but then it resolved itself so assumed he didn't!

He hasn't complained of a tummy ache or eaten anything out of the ordinary.

Any ideas? I could do with resolving it before nursery decide he's got a bug and don't let him in!

list what he is eating and see if there is a pattern. Or maybe a bug?

DD1 had'toddler diarrhea' from aged 1 till about 3.5.
I didn't realise it was a thing until HV said. It resolved itself and now she errs on the side of being a bit too solid (lots of straining noises from bathroom at times!).

If your DS was fine before but isn't now, I would look at getting a sample nice for GP to check for bugs and also keep a food diary for a couple of weeks and note on it how his poos were.

How is he about going to the toilet? Any anxieties that could be causing him to hold on till the last possible second?

Hope it sorts itself, and nursery are understanding.

Thanks.
I mentioned it to nursery and they said he had been fine there be that theh encourage the children to go at regular intervals so I wonder if the problem was that we'd been letting him take responsibility for going for most of the day.
Seems to have resolved itself pretty much at home for now as well so all good.
