Can anyone help me identify what 10mo DS is doing in his sleep, whether it is a problem and if yes what kind of specialist he should see?
He's done this twice. First time was a couple of months ago while sleeping for the afternoon on DH. DH managed to film a bit (turn the sound up):

His breathing changes from normal and he does this loud, sucking in type breath.
Then he did it again two night ago while sleeping next to me. The noise was loud enough to wake me. I tried gently shaking and moving him but I couldn't get him to stop. In the. End I tickled him, he laughed, moved and stopped. I then breast fed him and he drifted off again doing the weird breathing for a few eco da longer before he went back to normal sleep.
I showed the video to his paediatrician who said it was nothing. DH suffers from severe sleep apnea so he consulted his specialist as well. He said that if DS was doing this a lot they would need to assess him as a matter of urgency but as a one off he would ignore it. I co-sleep with DS so would know if he was doing it all the time.
I don't know if this is relevant but when I was younger I had lucid dreams, night terrors and sleep paralysis. On a hunch this looks a bit like sleep paralysis.
Any ideas?
