I'm new on here , I took my 5 yr old DD for an eye test yesterday and she has to go back again in 2 weeks to have drops in and another eye test , does this mean she will need glasses ? and do the drops sting ? TIA

The drops aren't too bad. DS had them when he was 5 and coped fine. He has sensory processing difficulties so if they were uncomfortable then the whole world would have known about it!
The drop dilate the pupils so that the orthoptist can get a better look and do some other tests that they can't do without the drops. It doesn't necessarily mean she will need glasses, the drops are purely to help with the eye exam.
The drops can make their vision a bit funny for a few hours afterwards.
