Can anyone recommend a pediatrician in London?

Hi,

My toddler is severely anemic and vitamin d deficient too and completely refuses to take medication (pukes it all out).

I was hoping she could get them through injection as I have tried everything else. What type of pediatrician would she needs referring to? Can anyone recommend someone in London (can be on NHS or private)?

Thanks.

I'd ask the GP for a referral to Great Ormond Street Hospital.

We did just that when DS had a health issue and the level of care was just amazing. Really felt the doctor listened and understood.

Pen, may I ask which doctor you saw?

Olive sorry your child is poorly. I too would speak to your gp and ask to be referred to a specialist. Paeds drs do include generalists but also specialists so asking for a particular Dr may not be appropriate iyswim.

Have you tried your gp? If it's just vit. injections she needs that would be quickest and easiest.

You'll need to see your gp for a referral to a paed anyway. you can't just rock up. Referrals are usually months/weeks.

Where in London are you?

OliveCane · 29/05/2015 22:41

I can travel anywhere in London.

I can go private or via the NHS.

do you have an underlying diagnosis as to the anaemia and vit d deficiency?

If I were you I'd start with gp. They'll send you to the most appropriate department for investigation. If it is simply needing medication via injection, likely the practice nurse can do it. Which will be far quicker than waiting for a paed.

A Dr Jaffa but his speciality was renal.
