Baby excema

My little boy is nearly 5 months old and has recently been getting a dry, red spot next to his ear. It's clealry bothering him as he keeps itching it. It also seems to be spreading on his neck and under his chin. I've tried different creams in him but nothing seems to work and I actually don't like to use too many product on him. I think it may be baby excess but I obviously dont know for sure. Will be seeing doctor next week.
Has anyone got any experience with natural remedies? The Internet is such a jungle and so full of mixed advice so would like to hear from someone who has their own experience.
Some places says its a problem in the gut, is this tru? He was taken with emergency c-section.
He is both breast and bottle fed at the min if that's any help.

Hello Ina...my little man developed little red patches on his back at 6 months old after we returned from a sunshine holiday over Christmas. The January return to the UK cold weather with dry air and central heating seemed to stimulate the problem.

Like you I did not want the excema to spread and become a bigger problem. So while we did use a small amount of Daktacort cream to kickstart the healing (which is a mild cortisone cream), we have had great success with QV products which our paediatrician recommended. We use the cream all over his body twice a day, and the bath oil. We have found this far more effective versus say Oilatum or Aveeno or Diprobase products.

I recognise that every baby is entirely different, but wanted you to know what worked for us. Regarding totally natural products, I know that some people swear by Hope's Relief Cream.

Warmer summer weather coming and heating going off should also help your little one.

Good luck!

That's great, thank you. I think I will give that Hope's relief a go since it's all natural. So far it's only a small patch so I would like to try and avoid too much "harsh" stuff on him.
