What is this on my baby's face/neck (pic added)

DD has spots on her face/neck/ behind her ear that keep coming and going. They are a slightly raised and are sometimes worse when she first wakes up. I am thinking excema, cat allergy (this has coincidentally started since we've been living at my mum's who has a cat), heat rash maybe...?
I've stopped using products when I bathe her in case she's developed skin sensitivity and it still comes and goes.
Before I trot her off go the GP (when I can get an appointment) has anyone got any ideas??

It looks a lot like a heat rash. You could always show the rash to a pharmacist rather than take her to the GP, just to confirm.

Thanks, yeah hadn't thought of that actually!
Can teething cause rashes? Just another thought, as she's definitely got teeth coming through...

Is it raised?

Goldmandra · 24/04/2015 19:04

Could well be eczema.

Obviously do check it out with a medical professional but you could also try changing to fragrance free washing powder and doing an extra rinse and using an emollient a couple of times a day.

It does feel slightly raised/rough to touch. It had gone down a lot by yesterday and is even better today. I had wondered about products /washing powder being the cause, but surely she'd have spots elsewhere if that was the case??

Funnily enough, 3 separate people have commented on it and said it looks like a teething rash. I didn't even know rashes other in the nappy area could also be teeth related. Am pretty sure she's just cut another tooth, so perhaps that is the case...

Mine used to get a rash and high temperature when teething. I second taking her to a pharmacy, good advice!
