Tonsillectomy pain

DD (7) had her tonsils out on Monday. We were sent home with instructions to give regular calpol/neurofen which seemed fine for a day.
However she has been in immense pain since midday today and the medication doesn't seem to be touching it. She's been crying in pain for the last 2 hours but isn't due anymore calpol for another hour.

A friend has offered me the morphine her DD was prescribed after same op. Is it safe to give to my DD If she is really bad tonight?
Will the GP prescribe something if I ring tomorrow??

Do not give her someone else's prescription, call the ward she was in and ask them what to do, she might have an infection.

Absolutely not! Morphine is a controlled drug and can have serious side effects, you have no idea how much to give or anything.

It's very normal for things to get worse before they get better. Patients quite often take a dip before things improve. I'm not sure what else you would get from your GP as we no longer give out codeine to go home with. You are doing the right thing by giving calpol and nurofen regularly, is she eating and drinking as it's really important.
