Sorry if this is a really stupid question, if looked on various websites including the NHS one but would welcome opinions on what you'd do.

DD is 4 and a half months, and yesterday was around another child who today has developed chickenpox. I understand that the day or two beofre spots appear is when someone would be at their most contagious so it's entirely possible she will get it too.

She's in generally good health and I'm not really worried about her having it (gets it out of the way at least!) but I am worried about her passing it on to someone who would be more seriously affected.

From what I can gather, though, it takes 2-3 weeks for symptoms to appear.

I can't realistically keep her isolated for 2-3 weeks, so what would you do? If we were going to be around anyone who I know is at risk I would let them know so they could decide, but obviously in day to day life we will come into contact with other people. Saying that DD isn't going to be licking/drooling on random people...

Grateful for your thoughts: I don't want to completely overreact, but nor do I want to make someone else's kid sick!

Just carry on as normal until you see any spots. You may be lucky and they won't get it this time
