Calpol reducing temperatures. School or not?

Yesterday my 5yo had a temperature of 101 on waking. I gave her calpol and kept her off school. Her temp fell to just above 99 and she was exceptionally perky all day. This morning my 8yo ds had a temp of over 102 on waking, terrible headache and very flushed cheeks. I gave him calpol and he's now completely fine, temp just above 99 and running around like a maniac. I've kept him off school because he looked so unwell when he woke up. Just wondering what others do when temperature is sorted by medicine. Do you send them to school or not?

With temperatures that high, I would keep them home.

Minor grizzles, which are eased by calpol, I would send them to school, but let them know.

Coughs and colds I would send mine in, but if they have a temp then I would keep them home.
As the meds would only last around 4 hours normally before the temp would start rising again.
Also meds can mask some illnesses so I like to keep an eye on them.

I would keep them off with a temperature that high. I send them in with coughs and colds especially if they've had a good nights sleep (sometimes keep them off if they've been up all night coughing so they can catch up on sleep).

Thank you. It became obvious half way through the day that keeping them off was the right thing to do. As the calpol wore off, temperatures rose to 102 again and there was lots of crying because of headaches. A lot of telly was watched....
