She is 16 months.
Breastfed until 11 months with no real issues.
She has never been a good eater of solids and over the past 5 months I'd say has become increasingly sicky.
We have been to the doctors and been told it's a virus, a bug etc etc...
To be honest I stopped going as felt that it just me being paranoid.
She reaching all of her milestones, is small boned, walked early and other than this sickness we have no other issues.
We all had a bug last week and the difference in her whilst having that has made me realise that this is an ongoing gastro issue rather than viral/bug etc.
It's almost like she can cope with a very very small amount of food at a time, a bowl of cereal or a packet of wotsits, couple of mouthfuls of an Ella's pouch. She can have milk or wet stuff if she has not eaten any solids but it seems that if she has solids they either take so long to digest or just do not digest that she vomits everything she has eaten up.
Our normal pattern is she eats normally all day and at bedtime she has her milk (changed to soya after tummy bug latest week and not made a difference) then either immediately or up to a couple of hours later she will bring it all back. (Everything from the day, or at least it seems that way, she must be keeping some down as she active and happy) If she manages to hold onto it it invariably comes back when she coughs, if it comes up immediately it is almost like she just opens her mouth and it flies out.
Immediately after this she is hungry, crying for food. Last night she came down stairs, ate a handful of Cheerios with some milk and hasn't, so far, been sick. She had a bottle of water and dioralyte and looking back I think this has probably stopped things getting serious.
It sounds stupid but I think it has just dawned on me that this is not normal. We have sort of lived with her up throwing up now and she does get better as we give her a very light diet the day after so it makes it seem sort of less worse.
But I've realised that this isn't normal and the doctor needs to take me more seriously.
I've looked at GERD and Pyloric Stenosis (family history on DHs side of this) but these things seem to be something that effects younger children and from birth and clear up a they get older so now I'm sitting here in her room terrified she is going to be sick again worrying that she has a tumour or something growing in her little body and that's why it's getting worse as she grows not better.
I should have gone back to the doctor yesterday but to meet her you would not be aware that there is anything wrong with her and I think it sort of makes me feel like I am being paranoid.
Does anyone have any idea what it can be?
