Tiny warts on toddler's hands

Help! I am so worried about this and feel very guilty. My DD is 18 months and appears to have loads of tiny little warts on her hands.

I think she got them from me, as I have a lot of flat tiny (and a couple of bigger) warts on my hands. I tried to treat mine many times but they are so small that the skin around burns horribly when I used wartner or whatever. Also those I did treat have just got bigger.

I went to the Dr when DD was tiny to ask if there was anything I could do - I didn't want to pass them on and I am terrified she will end up with them all over and on her face etc. The Dr said there was nothing to be done and that treatment can just make warts stronger and they regroup and spread, which I think it was has happened with mine.

I know warts can go on their own but I am worried they will get worse, or that she will spread them at nursery. Anyone had experience of this? There are zillions of home remedies online but most are hard to do on a child and i don't want to make them worse as I have with mine.

My ds had warts on his hands when he was little. Passed on by a nursery worker.
He had them treated at the doctors with liquid nitrogen. It was very painful and ds was distressed. The nurse wanted me to hold him down.
We did not finish the treatment.
After a while they completely disappeared and he hasn't had any more.
I think your bodies own immunity kicks in.
I would try over the counter stuff or duct tape seems to have some success.

My little girl is 3.3 and has had these since about 18mo. She now doesnt have any on her hands, but has small clusters on her torso and thighs. Doctors have reassured us that it is common and will disappear eventually. Molluscum Contagium I think they called it.

She seems blissfully unaware.

Hi rollermum God, the sleepness nights I've had about warts. My middle DD got them on her face when she started reception in 2012. Just tiny flat warts, then she started getting big ones on her hands and fingers. The ones on her face started to spread as well.
I went to GP and got Salactol for the hand ones but they weren't flat warts like your DD has and also, like you say it can burn and she is so small. I went back to GP 3 or 4 times about her face ones and they didn't give a toss to be honest. Just said they'll get worse and bigger and every new wart that comes will take at least 2yrs to go. I said to one GP, 'so if it was your daughter, you'd do nothing?' He said yes. I said 'I doubt it'
Anyway, I ended up taking her to see a private dermatologist who contradicted what GP had said and said they won't get bigger or worse but they will just go although will take time and he prescribed a cream which is usually adults only for acne but he said it kick starts the immune system to attack the warts. And after a couple of months they all started to disappear from her face.
I have 2 other chikdren and they never caught them although they shared hand towels, toys etc.

They will go :). It's best to leave them as treating is painful and can cause them to spread. Left alone the immune system will deal with them and the the chances of them coming back will be much less.

They're unsightly, but nothing more sinister.

I had loads as a child, but they started to disappear in my teens, and I never get them now as an adult :)

Thanks everyone, I appreciate your sharing.

There seems to be a range of experiences, here and online, but waiting and seeing seems to be as legitimate a course of action as any. I will seek private help if needed later though.
