4 yo - eye test, glasses for mild long-sightedness

DD had her second eye test today (first was 6 months ago). She is a bit long sighted (+1.0) in both eyes and failed the 3D test. This is similar to last time. The optician has recommended that she wear glasses at least part of the day due to a family history of lazy eye. Has anyone had a similar experience? Will she eventually pass the 3D test?

My DD failed her school eye tests and was mildly long-sighted. She wore a patch for 6 - 9 months and glasses and after that she didn't need the patch or glasses.

She's 8 now and her eyesight is fine.

I was surprised that it was corrected but it seems that nowadays early eye tests can get on top of problems really quickly.

Thanks, I don't think DD needs a patch a her eyes seem fairly even at the moment. But I don't know why she can't do the 3D test they have done.

I'm not sure but doesn't that show there is a difference between the eyes?

I remember DD having to find numbers in a pattern - is that the 3 D test?

Do you mean she doesn't have binocular vision? My dd is long sighted and doesn't have binocular vision so we save a fortune at the cinema as we don't have to go to the 3D shows!

My 4 year old is mildly long-sighted and wears glasses mostly because one of her eyes is lazy. By correcting the vision, it should remove the tendency for the lazy eye to fail to develop as they'll both be used together. (She also wears a patch a couple of hours a day).
At a young age, there's a good chance it will be corrected because the brain is still developing, if they were to treat a lazy eye past a certain age (I think 5 or 6?) it can correct the sight but not the binocular vision IYSWIM, because the brain is already set into interpreting the input from the eyes separately.

DD is also long sighted and cannot focus when she looks up (well, she can but her eyes do a funny dance). She was not told she needed glasses

She can read to the same line on charts with both eyes. She failed the test that involves wearing 3D type glasses and also struggled with some sort of test that involved finding numbers on a page, though I'm not sure what that was.

Sounds like a test for colour blindness.

I thought that the numbers were a colour blindness test, though not the 3D glasses one. Though some colour blindness test images are actually harder for those without colour blindness to do, so I think I can ignore that aspect of the test. I am confident that she isn't colour blind as she is a girl and never has issues with colours.
