Am I being neurotic?

I'm thinking of taking DS (9) to the doctor but don't want to come across as totally neurotic mother.
These are the main probs:
He has insomnia- can't get to sleep till about midnight most nights and is then exhausted the next day.
He has very bad skin- really spotty.
He is lethargic all the time
He has really cracked lips- sore and red all the time
He is very pale, sometimes almost yellow looking.
He has had quite a few low level infections recently- high temp, UTI etc.
School have commented that concentration levels have got a lot worse recently, and a few other people have commented on him looking really unwell.

I don't know whether the non-sleeping could be the cause of it all,or a symptom of something. Anaemia? Something worse?

AIBU to ask doc for a blood test?
I don't want to put him through it if it's unnecessary, but I don't want to have missed something if there's something that can be done.

Do the blood test. He's clearly not right and school have concerns too so it's not in your head at all.

A few seconds of discomfort has got to be better than months of this.

your poor ds.

Thank you! I didnt know if I was just being a bit over protective.
I'm not normally, but because there's nothing I can put my finger on I started to doubt myself.

My first thought is anaemia.

or some kind of intolerance maybe.

I'd get the first appointment you can tbh.

it may be worth looking at food, my dd suffered from random sickness, hair loss, cracked lips, sleeplessness, anxiety, frequent toilet needs, infected fingers, toes, pale skin, really bad skin etc. She was eventually seen by a paediatrician and diagnosed with constipation. Movicol has eliminated all problems( we now eliminate certain foods to see what causes the constipation but currently have a happy, healthy child who is nothing like the shadow that she had been). Please see a doctor to check out any underlying stomach issues.

Thanks I hadn't considered that.
