My son had his right eye removed at 18 months old due to bi-lateral retinoblastoma he had this condition and nobody knew! If when u take a photo of your child and rather than a red eye you see a white reflection, or your child's iris is darker than the other one or they have a squint plse plse plse do not waste time DO NOT let ur GP fob u off like ours did. U need ur child looked at ASAP. If u want to check out a good website it's 'CHECT' u can contact me if u have any questions xxxx

This is a good message to get out to everyone - I'm sure in most cases there is no issue, but it's got to be worth checking.

Hope your DS is OK now. Smile

Hi anormamum my daughter was diagnosed at 15 months with unilateral retinoblastoma. I had seen a white flash in one eye, like a cats eye reflection, but tbh wrote it off as nothing for a couple of months. When I mentioned it to the health visitor she made an appointment with an eye specialist ASAP. I was so lucky she had an inkling of what was wrong. Some GPs are simply not aware of the problem. Where you treated at Birmingham?
